Ant Flow is a free puzzle game where tiny colored ants take apart a pixel-art picture, one block at a time. Your goal is to clear every block and reveal the whole picture without getting stuck.

Each ant only picks up blocks that match its color. Therefore, the real challenge is deciding which ants to send out and when.

How to Play Ant Flow

  •  Look at the board. The picture is made of small colored blocks. Below it, you will see boxes of ants. Each box holds a set number of ants in one color.
  • Click a box to send it to one of the five slots. Once it is in a slot, its ants come out.
  • Watch the ants work. They walk to blocks that match their color and carry them away. Only blocks not covered by others can be taken, and these are marked with a white ring. Buried blocks have to wait until the layers on top are gone.
  • Free up your slots. When a box has sent out all its ants, it disappears and its slot opens again.
  • To complete the level, clear the entire picture.

Be careful with the slots. If you place a box whose color has no reachable blocks, it just sits there and uses up a slot. If all five slots are filled with boxes like that, the level will be lost. To ensure you always have an escape route, try to keep at least one slot open.

There is no timer and no lives, so you can take as long as you like.

How to Play Ant Flow

Boosters for tricky moments:

  • Extra Slot adds a sixth slot for a while.
  • Shuffle rearranges the boxes in the tray.
  • Pick Up sends a box from a slot back to storage.
  • Tornado clears every block of one color at once.

New tricks as you level up: At level 8, mystery cubes with question marks show up. At level 12, some cubes are locked under upper layers. At level 18, boards come with two nest holes. The pictures also change from level to level, with animals, fruit, food, flowers, festivals, toys, rockets, castles, and nature. If you want more of a challenge, you can also unlock Ant Rush mode.

What Will You Learn?

  • Planning ahead. You have to think about which color becomes reachable next before you click.
  • Patience. Since there is no timer, rushing does not help. Careful thinking does.
  • Spotting what matters. You learn to scan the board, find the colors you can reach, and ignore the ones you can't yet.
  • Managing limits. Five slots is not much. You become better at deciding what to use now and what to save.
  • Staying flexible. The board changes after every move, so your plan has to change too.
  • Addressing issues incrementally. Each level is a small puzzle where the order of your moves decides whether you win.
