Assemble a band of felt monsters in Sprunkybox. Place 20 characters across 7 stage slots, hunt for 19 secret songs, and drop in a dark character to unlock "Dark Mode," all directly in your web browser.

How to Play Sprunkybox

Sprunkybox transports you to a Halloween-themed stage where handmade felt monsters take on the roles of musicians. The stage features a pumpkin frame and a starry, shimmering sky, with 20 quirky characters ready to contribute beats, melodies, vocals, or eerie sound effects to your musical creations. The game is played entirely with your mouse—no installation required.

Steps to Build Your Band

  • Look at the colorful character tray located below the stage.
  • Drag and drop characters into any of the 7 slots on the curved stage. Each character serves a specific function: beats, bass, melodies, vocals, or sound effects.
  • Add more characters to layer your sounds. Since each character has its own unique audio and dance moves, every arrangement results in an entirely different performance.
  • Use the "Mute" button to silence a character, "Solo" to isolate their sound, or "Remove" to take them off the stage.
  • Press "Space" to replay your mix, "F" to toggle full-screen mode, and "Esc" to close any open panels.

Every mix sounds good, so there’s no wrong move here. Drop in a character, listen, swap things around until it clicks.

Hunting for 19 Secret Songs

This is the feature that keeps players coming back to Sprunkybox. The game hides 19 secret songs, which you can unlock by combining specific characters:

  • Two, three, and four-character combinations: Each secret song requires a precise group of characters to be placed on stage. Try combining characters in pairs, then add a third or fourth one to see if a song emerges.
  • In-game hints: Your badges fill up little by little as you get closer to the correct combination. You may also catch faint echoes of a tune, and the silhouettes shown on screen give subtle hints about which characters you need.
  • Legendary Songs: Fill all seven stage slots at the same time to unlock a special hidden track.
  • Music Book: Each song you discover is recorded in your Music Book, which is split into a “Light Mode” section and a “Dark Mode” section, so you can see what you’ve collected and what’s still missing.

Every combination offers a chance to discover something new, and the Music Book gives you a clear goal to work toward.

When the stage descends into darkness

This second phase sets Sprunkybox apart from a typical music game. Among your characters, there’s a mysterious, shadowy figure—placing it onto the stage triggers a total transformation:

  • An eerie shift: Lightning flashes, thunder rumbles, glowing red eyes appear, and shadows creep across the screen, turning the once-cheerful stage into a dark, unsettling place.
  • New sounds for Phase 2: Every character gains an entirely different set of sounds—darker and more unsettling. It’s the same cast of characters, but the music feels like it belongs to another world.
  • Dual atmospheres: You can switch between the warm, comfortable “Light Mode” and the eerie, spine-chilling “Dark Mode” to shape the mood of your stage.
  • More secret songs to uncover: The Music Book includes a dedicated section for "Dark Mode," meaning the darkness brings its own unique tracks for you to collect.
