Merge Balls is a puzzle game where you drop balls into a container. Use your mouse to choose where to drop them; when two identical balls touch, they merge into a larger one. Create combos to rack up high scores, play solo or with friends!

Merge Balls: A great follow-up if you enjoyed Suika Game

When Suika Game first became popular, many of us spent evenings dropping fruits, only to watch in dismay as a massive watermelon caused the container to overflow. Merge Balls follows the same core mechanic: drop balls, merge identical ones into larger versions, and avoid letting the container fill up. While Suika Game offers a unique, high-stakes "solo" experience, Merge Balls is better suited for those who want to have some fun—especially when inviting friends to join the chaos.

Game Highlights

Bouncy physics. Balls don’t just land and stay put; they squish and roll around before settling. You may target a specific location, but the ball may roll to a different spot. After a few rounds, you’ll start to anticipate how they roll; that’s where the game’s hidden depth reveals itself.

Chain combos. Drop a ball in the perfect spot, and you might trigger a series of merges, suddenly clearing up space in a crowded container. This satisfying feeling is precisely what keeps me coming back for more.

Boosters. Stuck? Swap your next ball, shake the container to shift things around, temporarily expand the container, or use the "Sniper" to remove an inconveniently placed ball. There’s even a "Lucky Wheel" to spin for extra items.

Multiplayer. Split the screen for up to four players; you’ll need to manage your container while finding ways to mess with your opponents'. It’s the kind of competitive play that often leads to friendly bickering—and lots of fun.

Level Editor. Customize the rules, the shape of the container, and the properties of the balls, then share your creations with friends. Crafting an impossibly narrow container and challenging your friends to play in it is a joy all its own.

How to Play Merge Balls

Using only your mouse:

  • Move the mouse to choose where to drop a ball.
  • Left-click or press the Spacebar to release it.
  • When two balls of the same type touch, they merge into a larger ball.
  • Click on an icon whenever you want to use a booster.
  • If any ball crosses the line at the top of the container, the game ends.

Gameplay Tips:

Keep an eye on the next ball before dropping the current one. Knowing what’s coming next helps you leave space accordingly.

Try to keep larger balls in one corner; this leaves more room in the rest of the container to maneuver.

Avoid dropping balls into crowded areas. A ball might bounce, pushing others toward the top line—which could end your game. If there’s no ideal spot, aim for a space.

Sometimes, it's more advantageous to hold off for a turn. Merging two pairs in quick succession yields a higher score than merging them one by one.

Don’t use your boosters too early, but don’t wait until a ball is already touching the top line—by then, it’s usually too late.

Before dropping the next ball, allow the previous ones to settle; hurrying can easily result in errors.

Conclusion

Merge Balls takes the classic "drop and merge" mechanic and enhances it with boosters, a multiplayer mode, and a level editor. It’s excellent for solo play if you’re chasing high scores, but it’s even more fun when you invite friends to compete (or sabotage each other!).

If you’re looking for something different, try Rooftop Flip. Instead of stacking balls, you launch a character to perform flips between rooftops; time your clicks carefully to ensure a steady landing. Both games require a mix of strategy and quick reflexes, and both are easy to pick up but hard to put down.
